Robust geotextile containers for riverbanks and coastline protection.
The Stopwave® system consists of sand-filled geotextile containers built to form a stabilising, defensive barrier against
coastal and river erosion.
What is Stopwave®?
The geotextile containers are made of Geotess®, a durable staple fibre geotextile.
It's a versatile system ranging from 500 kg hydraulically filled containers to 5 tons mega sand containers.
These containers are the smallest of the Stopwave® containers. Generally used on temporary structures like, small sea walls and groynes, riverbanks protection and small onshore structures in very mild climates and conditions.
These medium sized containers are used typically in groyne structures in mild conditions, emergency works and temporary structures due to their versatility and rapid construction techniques.
The largest of the mechanically fi lled containers. These containers are used in revetments, reefs and groynes due to their large size and high stability, even under the harshest conditions. Filling and placement of these very large containers is achieved using a specialized hydraulic filling apparatus and placement cradles to ensure complete filling and a consistent, neat finish.

Stopwave® structures restrict the loss or movement of sand through wave action, tidal currents and wave currents.
Stopwave® structures protect the shoreline by resisting the erosive forces from wave action or tidal events.
Stopwave® structures can reduce the size and energy of waves by assisting the wave to break away from the forseshore, thereby providing sheltered waters in the lee of the structure.
Stopwave® structures provide a base upon which organisms grow in the ocean or rivers systems. Such growth is vital to the health and diversity of the natural environment.
The Stopwave® shoreline protection system has been proven through many years of use in the harsh italian environment.
These structures have withstood coastal abrasion, vandalism, and UV damage.
The Stopwave® system is supported by extensive research and development and superior design support. It provides a cost-effective alternative to traditional coastal erosion protection system made from concrete, rock armour, steel or timber. It also enhances the environment by providing a stable base for marine growth.
You can build structures with variable geometry like groynes, reefs, dunes, dams etc. Lego effect.
It is easy to fi ll and you can use the sands and gravels of the place of installation.
It is safe and made with eco-friendly material.
It is available in different sizes for each design requirement.
Stopwave® structures compare favourably to traditional coastal structures, both with initial installed cost and whole-of-lines costings.
It is made with double stitching for a maximum resistance to tearing. It has been successfully tested in the laboratories of the Polytechnic University of Marche Italy
The weight of the bag is little and volume is not bulky.
Stopwave® sand containers are supported by technical assistance from our engineers. Installation support is also available to help ensure efficient and correct installation.
